The Spooky Season is Here

The excerpt below is from Hollow, a perfect read to get you in the mood for Halloween.

If you have friends who like cozies with a bit of an edge, this is a book for them.

Please let everyone know that HOLLOW will be FREE October 26 thru 30 for Kindle on Amazon.

“Martha stepped into the house, turned on the porch light, and returned to get a better look at the carved pumpkin.

With a small gasp she jerked back, her foot slipped in something slick on the porch floor, she tumbled into the railing and came to rest beside the over-sized pumpkin with its double grimace.”

It’s never too late to make a difference

That sentence above is one of the ways readers have commented on the stories of Mrs Thistlethwaite and I think you will find that Mrs. Thistlethwaite and a Second Chance will continue that theme.

Some other comments about the Tillamook Tillie series describe “characters you instantly want to meet and a story that promises warmth and wit.” One email I received said, “Rather than presenting a straightforward cozy mystery, Mrs. Thistlethwaite seems to approach aging as something that doesn’t have to limit you…and courage as something that can come from the most unexpected places.”

Readers looking for heartwarming fiction with a serious message or who enjoy stories that move between humor, heart, and heroism can find them in this series.

As my loyal readers know, Tillie is an 85-year-old woman who, with her friends at her side, is always on the lookout for new experiences. That holds true in the new novel, as well.

If you have friends who enjoy reading character-driven fiction from a Christian perspective, please tell them about Tillie, Slim, and their friends.

Oh, and if your friends are looking for an atmospheric Halloween read this month, direct them to Hollow, where they can share in the spooky adventures of pastor’s wife, Bunny Elder. Hollow is the first book in the Bunny Elder series.

Tillie’s Coming Back!

Again, to all my loyal readers, “Thank you for your patience!”

More about the book recommendation site, Shepherd

I told you about the helpful book recommendation site I just discovered, Shepherd. Some of you wanted to know more and I have a treat for you. The site’s creator, Ben Fox, has agreed to share with us.

J.B.: So, Ben, why did you create Shepherd?

Ben: My goal with Shepherd is to help readers find books they will LOVE by building a profile of books they love and sharing why they love them. I call it your Book DNA.

J.B.: How does that work?

Ben: I will help them meet books through readers who share that Book DNA profile and do that in a way that feels like wandering through your local bookstore. And I want to do this while helping them bump into a wider range of authors they might not know yet.

J.B.: Thanks, Ben. I can’t wait to dig into recommendations for some of my favorite genres.

Isn’t this a great idea, readers? I am always looking for new books to read and authors to love and wishing there was a place to get recommendations, not just reviews on sales sites.

Ben says he gets recommendations, not just from readers, but from authors, too! In fact, he let me recommend a few of my favorite books on the site.

Happy reading!

I’m Back!
